COVID-19

Masking

Masking at Kutztown was driven by a Safety Plan which drove masking levels by incidence levels of COVID in the area. These 'levels' were poorly designed given the fact that a breakout in a local nursing home could drive the school to go to Mandatory Masking. So while on the surface it didn't appear masking was required, students spent more time in mandatory masking than not because of these unrealistic parameters.

Mandatory Masking continued at Kutztown until Jan. 2022, at which time masking became optional regardless of case levels.

School Directors Holt, Ritter, Darion & Hess were voted to continue mandatory masking. Thankfully Optional Masking passed allowing families to make the best choice for their students.
