Tax Increases Looming...

Dollars

Kutztown has proudly not raised taxes in 8 years, but that will likely come to an end shortly. In '22 Darion, Ritter, and Hess supported a .6 mil tax increase but motion failed. The 2022-2023 budget of $36M was approved with a $400K deficit paid out of $6M in reserve funds.

Between inflation and COVID-19/ESSER funding running out, the school board will be faced with some hard decisions in the coming years.

We need school board members who will do the hard work of reviewing programs and contracts to determine where cuts may need to be made to balance what's truly necessary for the students while considering the (potential) additional burden to tax payers.
